Vice President of Marketing

As the VP Marketing, you will lead the strategy and execution of all marketing operations at OneSpace. The VP of Marketing will define and drive OneSpace marketing strategy with a focus on B2B lead generation. Working closely with the Sales and Executive teams, you will be responsible for implementing and executing a multi-channel marketing strategy geared toward achieving our marketing qualified lead (MQL) goals.

In addition to a heavy focus on lead generation, the VP of Marketing will play a lead role in communicating our unique story and offering to the market, developing our brand and messaging and leading PR/media efforts. You will be responsible for setting and guiding the strategic direction of the Marketing team and for assembling the talent and creating the organizational structure of the team (internal staff and partner agencies).



In this role you will:

  • Report to a C-level sponsor and be held accountable for the success of team objectives
  • Be a critical member of the leadership team and responsible for significant input into the decision-making process of the organization
  • Build and manage your team including: identifying and planning for hiring needs, working with People Success to participate in recruiting and hiring of team members and provide constant, constructive feedback
  • Analyze the role of partner agencies as a supplement to internal team and create a working structure
  • Manage the departmental budget to achieve goals in a cost-effective manner
  • Monitor risks to the department and organization and surface issues before they become critical
  • Drive our strategic direction across all marketing initiatives and channels
  • Implement analytics software and necessary integrations
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and report results to the executive leadership team
  • Motivate the marketing team to maintain focus on departmental KPIs such as: Pipeline health, MQL quantity and quality targets, traffic growth, channel conversion, and lead to close lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agency partners and other vendors
  • Leverage our freelance workforce to achieve our objectives
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to ensure seamless operations between Marketing and Sales
  • Collaborate with the VP of Product on product positioning and messaging
  • Work cross-functionally with all leaders in our organization to ensure internal and external communication is in alignment with our brand guidelines

To win in this role you need:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a marketing professional with deep vertical knowledge of marketing strategies in a SaaS environment
  • Experience with retail and/or CPG clients is a plus
  • 5+ years’ demonstrable success in a leadership role
  • Ability to actively participate in strategy and decision-making at the highest levels of the organization
  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under constant deadline pressure
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to executive leadership
  • Experience working in a technology startup or in a B2B environment is preferred
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills; ability to give and receive feedback and to address complex situations
  • Proven ability to drive a team to success by providing motivation, instruction, constructive feedback and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Experience building and recruiting a team from identifying prospects to releasing employees who are unsuccessful in their position
  • Proven success creating, executing and measuring integrated marketing campaigns across channels with a track record of success achieving KPIs
  • Proven success developing a measurable demand generation strategy, preferably for a Software-as-a-Service company
  • Expert level knowledge of SEO, content strategy, email marketing, social media, paid media and analytics
  • Outstanding communication skills and experience crafting messages that speak to CXOs within the enterprise
  • Great instincts for branding, usability and design
  • Obsessive nature about brand management in multi-channel communications
  • A competitive nature and personality that thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business or related field
