OneSpace Named One of St. Louis’ Top Workplaces

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has released its official 2018 Top Workplaces honorees, with OneSpace grabbing the distinction for the first time.

OneSpace is no stranger to this sort of acknowledgement, however. In fact, this marks the fifth time in the company’s relatively short history that it has been recognized as a leading office and work environment in the Greater St. Louis area, having nabbed Best Places to Work accolades from the St. Louis Business Journal in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017; OneSpace also garnered the publication’s Advancement of Women Award in 2016.

Inclusion on the Top Workplaces list is determined by an anonymous employee survey administered by third-party research provider Energage. Feedback and results from the survey are then used to gauge various aspects of workplace culture. According to Energage, only 31 percent of employees are engaged in the average workplace, whereas teams at Top Workplaces see an average 58 percent engagement rate.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

While a few members of the OneSpace team were fortunate enough to attend an official celebration alongside other honorees from the community, the entire company took time to commemorate the achievement during a recent celebratory happy hour.

For OneSpace, the honor serves as validation of the great efforts and focus put forth by our entire team to ensure we’re truly living the company’s core values every day — not just listing them on our website or hanging them on a wall in our office. The distinction goes so much further beyond that and even beyond our office perks.

“To be named a Top Workplace is an honor, and one that I completely attribute to the amazing team here at OneSpace,” said Stephanie Leffler, co-founder and CEO. “Our seven core values are not just words that hang on the walls. Our team truly lives these values day in and day out, and it’s evident in how they not only treat each other, but our clients as well.”

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
